About the Robohawks
Mission Statement
The Robohawks
are a great collection of students, teachers, and mentors.
Our goal is to
create a competitive robot capable of performing well on a national
level.
More
importantly, we intend to learn and discover new things during our
production
through new
experiences and problem solving
About The Robohawks
Hazelwood
Central High School Robotics team is a second year team and in it's
second year of
competition. We currently have about 30 members. We are assisted
by many
mentors who help teach us the skills needed to do anything from
designing
to
machining .We started working from out of the back of a classroom and
now
have our
own room thanks to Hazelwood Central. We have learned so much from
last
year competition. There re many people that we would like to thank. they
are listed
below. Mr. Tom Wendel, parent and aeronautical engineer, worked with us on FTC and on FRC. He has helped a small but growing crew of students with programming our robots.
Mr. Michael Duello, parent and electrical and design engineer from DRS, Technologies, has helped us learn how to design parts of our robot and a great deal about machining!.
Mr. Daniel Robinson, parent and engineer, has shown us how to use Solid Edge to design our robot and playing field.
We also extend our gratitude to our teachers who have spent hours of their own time to help us. Mr. Michael Quigley who has helped tremendously, and still helps several times a week. Ms. Lauren Hart has recently joined the team and will be traveling with us. Ms. Danielle Camarota, who has helped us with FTC and continues to support us.
And our deepest thanks goes to Mrs. Catherine Sylve, our executive officer so to speak, who is the founder of the Hazelwood Central Robotics Team. Without her this would all not be possible.
Mr. Jeff Cosper and Mr. Jim Huggett, for assisting us with welding our ramps. Thanks for your patience while we tried to get them right!
